**Job Description**

The selected candidate will join the ESG Group, part of AECOM’s Environment Business Line. This position will focus on climate adaptation and resilience planning primarily for local government and other public agencies, although may also include work for the private sector. The work will be accomplished through employing climate assessment, rigorous economic and strategic planning techniques and developing innovative analytical approaches to providing solutions for delivering sustainability in varied domestic and international contexts.

Qualified candidates will have excellent analytical and writing skills with a professional consulting background in climate change adaptation. Urban or municipal planning, or policy modeling/design also useful. The candidate must have a demonstrated expertise in sustainability, with a particular emphasis on climate change.

**Qualifications**

+ Candidates must have a Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., City and Regional Planning, Environmental Policy) from an accredited university. Demonstrated knowledge of local government climate change/sustainability policy and program development is essential.

+ 6 years of experience at a planning consulting firm, or equivalent. Demonstrated experience managing projects, conducting and/or overseeing analysis, and writing proposals and securing work; client management, experience managing a small team.

+ Recent experience on adaptation planning essential, particularly policy and program design

+ Recent experience on climate change vulnerability and risk assessments that consider an array of climate impacts, including sea level rise, precipitation, and temperature and development of adaptation strategies to reduce impacts

+ Recent experience determining climate-related risks, vulnerability within the built environment, natural environment and communities of people, climate equity and adaptive capacity measures

+ Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with other quantitative/statistical programs desirable; experience with GIS and other spatial analytical systems, desirable

+ Familiarity with Climate Lens and PIEVC approaches, and others, is highly desirable

+ Knowledge of government initiatives and funding opportunities is desirable

+ Experience in related fields (land use planning, urban design, and transportation planning) is advantageous

Preferred Qualifications :

+ 10 years of experience at a planning consulting firm, or equivalent. Demonstrated experience managing projects, conducting and/or overseeing analysis, and writing proposals and securing work; client management, experience managing a small team.

+ Excellent quantitative skills
