**Job Description**
**AECOM** is currently seeking an advanced Junior / IntermediateElectrical Technologistto be based out of Edmonton, Alberta office. This position is a part of our Buildings and Places Business unit. The Buildings and Places Team is a vibrant and growing business line which delivers Engineering services as well as planning and economic analysis for construction projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to, federal, municipal, institutional, environmental, water/wastewater and transit facilities.
We are searching for someone who is resilient and enjoys working within a strong multi-disciplinary team. The ideal individual will have experience in light industrial, institutional, and municipal projects with broad skills in all phases of project delivery.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
+ Assemble construction drawing sets from schematic design through to construction documents in REVIT, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and diagrams.
+ Understand P&ID drawings and have the knowledge to extract relevant information to produce corresponding instrumentation and control electrical drawings, electrical layouts and plans, instrumentation input/output drawings, loop drawings, single line diagram, and cable schedules.
+ Implement design concept through the preparation and production of drawings for detail lighting, power, telecommunications, fire alarm, intrusion security, CCTV, door access, instrumentation, and controls.
+ Assisting with, or carrying out, the preparation of deliverables and products such as load calculations, specifications, and cost estimates related to electrical systems design for commercial, institutional, and light industrial facilities.
+ Develop various types of reports including schematic design, design development, building assessment, and design build/assist scope of work documents.
+ Conduct research to gather industry, field, and project specific data
+ Participate in the Quality Review process with the responsible engineer and verification team.
+ Performing field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Electrical Engineering Technology diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
+ Registration with ASET.
+ Valid driver's license.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience in the engineering consulting in light industrial, water/wastewater, instrumentation and control environment, transportation, and municipal projects is an asset.
+ Strong Revit and AutoCAD skills are essential.
+ Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code of Canada, pertinent electrical, energy and fire codes.
+ Ability to read multi-disciplinary drawings.
+ Experience using Navisworks and BIM 360 for model and clash coordination.
+ Proficient with the following computer programs which include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and multiple client FTP and CA sites/programs.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills and commitment to technical excellence, quality, and safety.
+ Excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and abilities
+ Professional and timely communication to internal team members and external stakeholders.
+ Desire to work closely with multi-disciplinary teams
+ Self-motivated and proactive
