    **Job Description**

    AECOM is seeking a Capture Manager for the Water Business Line. This position can be based out of any major office throughout Canada. This role is a critical position in support of the business line with one of the largest engineering firms in the world. You will collaborate with a team of Sales, Strategy, and Capture Managers who provide leadership and strategic direction to diverse pursuit teams. This key position is designed to support the development of market share and build top-line revenue for AECOM. In addition to supporting the initiatives that drive response, this role requires extensive relationship-building skills and strategies that work both within and beyond the Business Line, including developing relationships with leaders that span the geographies and business lines.

    You will work in collaboration with client account managers, proposal managers, market sector leaders, regional business leaders, and technical staff to create and facilitate teams that win work with new and existing clients.

    You will work on selected opportunities and oversee bid strategies, pricing, teaming, and proposal strategies. You will be expected to support the internal strategy and risk management for opportunities.

    In this role, you will lead strategic pursuits and act on the behalf of the executive sponsor for the opportunity. You will also support the development of mega pursuits as a member of a team.

    The ideal candidate is an accomplished business developer who understands project management, contracts, and proposal development. You will be expected to some familiarity with the client types in order to be conversant in their terminology, policies, organizational structure, etc.

    This key position is designed to develop market share and build top-line revenue for AECOM and provide our clients focused solutions. You will have the ability to use your skills and experience to contribute to a successful business practice and shape infrastructure that serves our communities.

    **EXPECTATIONS OF THE ROLE**

    + Lead and coordinate the production of proposals and marketing material in response to formal client Requests for Water Business Line Proposals.

    + Develop Capture Plans and strategies for top pursuits, including conducting industry research and competitive analysis.

    + Lead proposal pursuit teams; facilitate proposal meetings (Go/NoGo conversations); and conduct quality reviews to ensure compliance with RFP requirements & corporate brand.

    + Coordinate debrief meetings and gathering of Client feedback on proposals to support continuous improvement.

    + Support Capture Managers and Project Managers to update Salesforce opportunity records and track progress of assigned opportunities in Salesforce.

    + Contribute to internal training on topics related to core processes, tools, practices, or other special topics, as needed.

    + Develop and manage the pursuit delivery schedule.

    + Promote teamwork, maintain positive morale, and instill a creative culture within the practice

    + Collaborate and develop an integrated approach across AECOM’s business lines

    + Contribute to furthering the business development process in the Water business line

    + Support client business development relationships and activities

    + Support the execution of strategies, major proposals, and interviews

    + Serve as an ambassador for the broader AECOM business

    **Qualifications**

    **Minimum Requirements:**

    + Bachelor's Degree + 6 years of relevant experience

    + Strong engineering business development background

    + Experience with Business Development on major pursuits (Gross revenue $50 million or greater)

    + Must have the ability to develop and execute winning strategies for major projects and programs

    + Knowledge of marketing procedures, document and presentation production methods, proposal processes / proposal quality, and business development in professional services.

    + Strong understanding of the water resources, wastewater, water treatment, and piping/conveyance marketplace

    + Must possess the ability to work across multiple markets or business lines

    + Must have the ability to work collaboratively with various market leaders and regional executives in a matrix organization

    + Must have the ability and desire to work with and mentor key employees – helping them learn business development tools and processes

    + Requires flexibility to travel on a regular basis

    **Preferred Qualifications:**

    + Active in associations within the various engineering markets (e.g. DBIA, ASCE, AWWA, WEF/WEAO, etc.)

    + Bilingual (English/French) an asset

    + 15+ years of relevant experience

    + Being able to develop strategic initiatives in emerging markets is desired

    + Must have strong strategic writing, illustration, and communication skillset
