**Job Description**

AECOM’s Sustainability team comprises of specialists within our Building Engineering Business Line. We are recognised as industry leaders in the field of sustainable development.

Our projects range from working with Governments to support Building Regulations and National planning policy relating to climate change, to developing energy and sustainability strategies to support the design and planning of new development and the resilience of cities. We work across all construction stages, from pre-feasibility, through feasibility, design, construction and operation; and across a wide range of sectors - housing, healthcare, schools, universities, offices, retail, hospitality etc.

We also deliver advice relating to existing portfolios. Our Manchester and Leeds based sustainability team delivers sustainability services from early design workshops and strategic advice to detailed design advice, and post occupancy evaluation.

We support internal and external clients with a broad range of assessment services including BREEAM, DREEAM, LEED, SKA, and HQM and would also be interested in developing capacity in Estidama, Life Cycle Analysis and Whole Life Carbon services. we work

Examples of projects our Assessment team are involved in include:

+ A Digital Office hub for the North East of England targeting BREEAM Excellent

+ Multiple Sustainability Masterplans, ‘Establishment Management Plans’, for the MoD across multiple international locations.

+ Delivery of a bespoke sustainability strategy for the Shakespeare North Theatre that was developed collaboratively with the client.A new high specification research laboratory and office facility for Bristol Myers Squib targeting BREEAM Outstanding.

+ SAP modelling to support the development of the 2025 Zero Carbon Part L Building.

+ A Sustainability and Energy strategy for the University of Cyprus

+ Sustainability input to a number of projects in the Middle EastWe are looking for a senior/principal consultant who is an experienced, client facing Environmental Assessor who is self led with excellent time management skills and can demonstrate a track record of winning and delivering work.

+ Your key responsibilities, with support from the team, will include the following: Managing and conducting environmental assessments of buildings which could include BREEAM, LEED or DREAM, depending on candidate experience. This can cover both design stage and post construction assessment of buildings. Developing sustainability strategies to support building design teams and sustainability statements to support planning applications. Contributing to a wide range of projects as the workload dictates

+ Writing proposals and winning new work Carrying out project management and administration tasks, management of smaller projects, and work towards becoming a certified AECOM Project Manager

+ Building client relationships and delivering work

+ Presentations to clients and chairing meeting

+ Delivering high quality, clearly written outputs

+ Delegating work to junior staff and managing delivery

+ In addition to the above, the role holder will need to be flexible and adaptable to be able work on a range of energy, sustainability and net zero related projects, as required by the team, to suit the wide variety of different consultancy opportunities and deadlines that arise. Travel within the UK and occasionally abroad will be required from time-to-time in this role.

**Qualifications**

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

+ A built environment or science related degree

+ Experience in sustainability consulting or in a related industry
