(ROM-Bucharest) General Ledger Accountant

**Company Description**

Aecom is looking for an English speaker accountant who can manage the day-to-day accounting of several countries across Europe (i.e. Romania, Portugal, Slovakia, Croatia, etc.) as well as supporting some wider Continental Europe reporting and ad-hoc projects.

The role will interact with the AP/AR teams based in Bucharest, the R2R teams located in Manila (Philippines) and the Europe local finance teams located in-country.

This is a key role within the Finance team and will work in partnership with the Regional Finance Manager (Poland) and will report to the Regional Financial Controller (Bucharest).

**Job Description**

+ Overview the accounting of the entities in the portfolio (Austria, Romania, Slovakia, Portugal, amongst others) liaising with external accountants and tax consultants.

+ Reconcile General Ledger in US GAAP (Oracle) to local books.

+ Review Financial statements and various taxes (Corporate Income Tax, VAT, etc).

+ Perform and/or review Balance Sheet reconciliations.

+ Prepare and upload journals (prepayment release, accruals, etc).

+ Review/Prepare group quarterly reports for assigned countries.

+ Assist with any liquidations, recapitalisations or dividends distribution of the entities.

+ Review Bank Accounts signatories to ensure they are up to date

+ Involvement in ad-hoc projects where the local teams are stretched.

**Qualifications**

+ Fluent in English.

+ Degree educated or equivalent in Accounting or similar.

+ 3-5 year experience as an accountant, preferably in a multinational

+ Able to perform professional level accounting support, related to the most complex accounting tasks.

+ Able to work independently and requires very minimal supervision.

+ Operate ethically and with integrity

+ Know how to prioritize, advocate focus and accountability

+ Use clear and frequent communications, drive execution and results.

+ Be collaborative.

+ Lead by example, demand excellence, maintain safety and integrity as top priorities.
