**Job Description**
AECOM is currently seeking an Environmental Technician for employment in the Long Beach, CA office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Performs routine fieldwork (such as environmental multi-media sampling, operations, maintenance, and inspection of equipment) working under close supervision.
+ Performs routine tasks in support of project staff.
+ Various operations and maintenance activities associated with remediation systems involving extraction of hydrocarbons and impacted vapor and groundwater, performing recovery system maintenance as needed, groundwater monitoring, a compilation of field data.
+ Other activities may include setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.
+ Position will require OSHA 40-hour hazardous site worker training
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ HS + 2 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
+ Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects clients are security-sensitive.
+ Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals, moisture, and dryness, radiation, mineral fibers, and vibration.
+ This position requires frequent standing/walking, work in an environment of heavy, moving, equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion; performing repetitive bending/stooping, using portable ladders, potentially wearing fall protection.
+ Position will require wearing associated personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to safety glasses/goggles, gloves, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, face shield, and respiratory protection.
+ Mechanical skills and hands-on skills
+ Experience with various media sampling (soil, groundwater, and waste), astute attention to job place health and safety, the ability to troubleshoot, and effective communication skills (verbal, field notes, etc.)
+ OSHA 40-hour Training

+ Offered rate of compensation (California only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly rate range salary range for this position is $ 21.36 to $37.39 USD.
