**Job Description**

**AECOM** is seeking a Civil Engineer to be based in Waterloo, IA.

_This position is expected to begin in May 2023._

**The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:**

+ Builds analytic and design skills

+ Transportation Design includes but not limited to: Complete Streets, Highways, Interchanges, Bridges, Box Culverts, Storm and Sanitary Sewers, Detention Basins, Recreational Trails, ADA Sidewalks and Airports (Global and Local)

+ Knowledge or ability to learn Civil3D and MicroStation ORD modeling for transportation projects and conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer

+ Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer

+ Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer

+ Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems

+ Ability to learn ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online for mapping, data collection and display graphics.

+ Ability to learn and utilize Bluebeam and or Adobe products.

+ Ability to assist in preparing plan sets with Project Managers and design staff on transportation projects and site plans.

+ Knowledge or ability to obtain Iowa DOT inspection certifications

+ Gain knowledge and become familiar with Iowa DOT, Iowa SUDAS and Aviation specifications and design requirements

+ Assist with survey in the field, as needed, and development of CAD base maps

+ Travel opportunities are present but not required. If required for travel location, the ability to acquire passport

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Requirements:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field

+ Must have a Valid U.S. Driver’s License

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ EIT or the ability to acquire in 6 months

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

+ Experience using AutoCAD and MicroStation
