**Job Description**

**AECOM** is actively seeking an experienced Geologist for employment within our Environmental Remediation Practices group in the Billings MT office to support soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in environmental field data collection including drilling, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater and vapor sample collection.

In addition, the candidate will have experience in data management and technical report production. Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical for this role.

This is a Project Manager or Technical Lead -track position, therefore, the ideal candidate must be able to work independently and productively in a collaborative team-environment, foster team building through inclusion and mentorship, display a high level of organization and communication, and demonstrate a strong desire to learn from Project Managers. For the right candidate, this position holds significant growth potential.

**Tasks will include:**

+ Field-based task oversight of environmental investigation and remediation programs.

+ Oversee and lead well installation and sampling tasks, and able to communicate with PMs.

+ Project Management tasks including budgeting, schedule and scope development and tracking.

+ Data management, evaluation and report writing with experience drafting environmental investigation reports.

+ Qualified candidates must be comfortable with periodic travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.

+ Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Soil Scientist, or closely related field and 2+ years of experience in environmental consulting and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

+ Valid driver's license

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ 4+ years of experience in environmental consulting

+ 40-Hour HAZWOPER training

+ This position may be subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening.

+ This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

+ Offered rate of compensation (Montana locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $55,029.50 - $96,301.63.
