**Job Description**

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Urban Planner for employment in any of the following three Texas offices: Dallas, Austin, Houston, or Chicago, IL. AECOM is searching for candidates that are proactive, good communicators, and work well in a team environment.

Candidate must be able to support complex planning studies, urban design concepts, development applications and reviews. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to support projects from both a big picture perspective while managing details around technical city planning concepts.

Candidate will also:

+ Interprets and applies applicable government codes, ordinances and regulations.

+ Assists with updates and maintenance of Comprehensive Plan, transportation plan and land development regulations, small area plans, integrated infrastructure plans, and similar studies.

+ Conducts research and prepares statistical reports on land use, physical, social and economic issues.

+ Writes and presents formal and technical reports, working papers and correspondence and can show they are a strong writer.

+ Provides professional planning assistance to member communities on varied land use and transportation projects.

+ Develops plans, studies, and analyses on both regional and site scales.

+ Understands the impact of the built environment, and can view a project from a resiliency, land use and transportation lens.

+ Understand how urban analytics can help decipher the possibilities of future development.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Requirements:**

+ BA/BS +6 years of related experience in Urban Planning, Urban Design, City and Regional Planning, Architecture, Economics, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Master's Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, City and Regional Planning, Architecture, Economics, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

+ Candidate must be confident in GIS data management and data visualization.
