We’re one global team – over 50,000 strong – driven by a common purpose to deliver a better world.Job Summary:You will be working with a team of engineers, EIT’s, CAD/BIM technicians, technologists, and project managers will deliver high-quality and important buildings in the B+P sector. Here you will also have an opportunity to collaborate on multidisciplinary teams including architects and structural, electrical, and civil engineers.Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):Designing and drafting of plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systemsConstruction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, RFI response, construction inspection, and respond to client questions.Preparation of deliverables and products such as load calculations, specifications, and cost estimates related to HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial, institutional and light industrial facilitiesCoordinating with the design of other disciplinesPerforming field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents.Performing drafting assignments utilizing CAD or 3d modeling software; preparation of plans, sections, elevations, details, and construction documents for review and approvalParticipating in the Quality Review process with the responsible Engineer and Lead VerifierAssisting with working within a project team environment and possess good communication skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Technical Diploma in Mechanical Systems Design plus 4 years of relevant experience doing Mechanical Design work on institutional, commercial, or municipal buildings (or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Ideal candidate will be a CET and a member of ASET. Candidates with P.Eng. with similar experience will be considered.Prefer 8 – 10 years of experience in a wide variety of HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection, load calculations, and all other building systems.Previous experience in light industrial, transportation structures, and/or water/wastewater treatment HVAC design an assetPrefer at least 5 years of experience using AutoCAD and Revit.Experience in multi-disciplinary projects as related to buildings and infrastructure market segmentsAbility to read multi-disciplinary plansSelf-starter and can work with minimum supervisionExcellent comprehension of verbal and written EnglishSelf-motivated as well as a team playerFamiliarity with applicable provincial & National Building Code/Energy Code/Plumbing Code/Fire Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, and SMACNAExperience with following and implementing Client CAD/BIM StandardsProfessional and timely communication to internal team members and external stakeholdersDelivers on promises to project team members, consultants and clientsExperience in using Navisworks and BIM 360 for Model and clash coordinationAbility to work on of many projects simultaneouslyExperience with Carrier’s HAP and McQuay “Ductsizer” programsExperience with energy modeling software such as Trane “TRACE 700”, “eQuest” and “DOE-2” is considered an asset.Experience using Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Project and Power PointAdditional Information:Relocation is not available for this position.Sponsorship is not available for this position.
