This individual must be a professional engineer with multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering. The individual will be responsible for overseeing our active projects and for acting as Senior Engineer leading the design and engineering efforts for various projects. The individual may also provide business development support, developing and maintaining contracts, in addition to technical direction to key project personnel; and be involved in planning, developing and coordinating project related activities.Additional Responsibilities: • Performs various management and leadership responsibilities for the Engineering disciplines. Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.• Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.• Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.• Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field.• Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.• Supervises group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.• Acts the Designer of Record for delegated projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelors degree in Engineering • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the engineering design of institutional, commercial and municipal buildings projects. Requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering.• Experience managing projects and people • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PEng) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Structural engineering background and experience preferred but not mandatory15+ years of experience managing projects and peopleThorough knowledge of building systems and construction detailingStrong business acumen and people manager skillsExcellent communication and organizational skillsDemonstrated strong creativity in designStrong presentation skillsStrong problem identification and problem resolution skillsExceptional technical knowledge of building construction and the Saskatchewan Building CodeAbility to supervise production of a number of projects simultaneouslyAbility to work within and lead in a team environmentAbility to co-ordinate with a multi-disciplinary in-house consultant teamMulti-tasking is very important for this position, combined with attention to detail, time management and organizational skillsMicrosoft Office (Excel and Word), Outlook, AdobeProficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, Photoshop, Sketchup, and other artistic methods necessary to convey creative ideasHigh level of sound and independent judgment and reasoningMust be dedicated to working hard with an all-hands-on-deck attitude towards completing the work efficiently and accuratelyMust possess a valid driver's licenseAdditional Information:Relocation is not available for this position.Sponsorship is not available for this position.
