Join us for this live webinar with expert speakers from Mott MacDonald reviewing the impact quality in construction can have on flood resilience.
As the reality of climate change hits us harder and faster than previously expected there is a greater need to design for exceedance. This is to design our public realm in such a way to allow flood waters to safety pass through new developments without entering properties. These designs are often integrated with drainage and SuDs designs. This talk will outline some of the principals of these designs based on approaches in England, and provide examples where the effectiveness of the design is lessened due to poor construction quality.
The session will cover: Introduction to planning policy and suds Introduction to designing for exceedance Case studies of poor construction
The conference link will be sent out 2 days before the webinar is due to take place. Event fees This event is free to all members of the CIOB. Non-members will be charged £10.00.
