Stephen and Tara chatted with Emma Wainer about lots of things to do with Body Language. We discussed the following:
How you can physically prepare for a job interview
and how everything you think will be demonstrated by your body, breath and voice.
How to differentiate yourself in a job interview by answer questions to demonstrate our experience and expertise. Our answers need to have a balance between powerful skills (values, ethics, personality and people skills) and hard skills (technical).
Women in interviews and the language we tend to use. which can diminish agency in the success of project.
Tone of voice
Aligned, Open and Released:
Aligned - How to sit so you look and feel confident - feet on the floor & bum on the chair - back not touching the chair. If time - position on the screen.
Open face and shoulders are important - so I can see your face and eyes - if I can't see your eyes I can't know whether I trust you - so never sit with light or window behind you!
Released so that you can breathe well and therefore have a confident-sounding voice.
