AECOM’s Sustainable Development Group are industry leaders in the field of low carbon design and sustainability in the built environment. Our projects range from working with Government to support Building Regulations and National planning policy aimed at reducing climate change, to developing energy and sustainability strategies to support the low carbon design and planning of major new development and the decarbonisation of our cities and towns. We are seeing an increasing demand for our consultancy services to assist building developers, organisations, cities and regions to develop deliverable strategies and action plans for achieving net zero carbon emissions. We are seeking a senior energy/carbon consultant to join our established London based Sustainable Development Group to support this area of work
+ Providing consultancy support to building/housing developers, local authorities, cities and regions to develop strategies for achieving net zero carbon emissions.
+ Writing proposals and winning new work.
+ Building client relationships and delivering work.
+ Presentations to clients and chairing meetings.
+ Supporting junior team colleagues through delegation of work, skills development and knowledge sharing.
+ A detailed knowledge of the measures and systems for reducing carbon emissions within the built environment, including energy demand reduction, renewable energy generation, and low carbon energy supply and demand management options
+ Experience in calculating or compiling energy and CO2 emissions data at building or city scales
+ An ability to communicate effectively, be client-facing and write concise and clear reports.
+ A good understanding of and interest in sustainable development issues as they relate to the built environment
+ An awareness of recognised Greenhouse Gas reporting methodologies
+ Experience in project and client management
+ An understanding of the UK policy and regulatory framework relating to energy use and sustainability of buildings
+ Established professional experience in energy/carbon consulting, or other related experience in the consulting industry and/or private or public sector
+ A desire and commitment to avoid further damage to the earth’s eco systems
+ A science, engineering, or building-related degree; a building sustainability/energy related MSc is desirable
