You will have the opportunity to work with offices and projects across Alberta and British Columbia. This position will be a member of our multi-disciplinary team and will collaborate with design and technical leadership and be an integral part of project teams. As part of our Living+ Studio, you will be involved primarily in high-rise residential and mixed-use projects and have an impact on the urban environment.This job opportunity will be located in western Canada.Most of the Things you’ll be working on:Work on multiple projects at the same timeCreate designs from concept through to working drawingsPrepare conceptual design packages and follow through to working drawingsSketchUp models and Revit models, presentation drawings and renderingsPrepare Rezoning, DP and BP applicationsResolve complex design and technical issuesWork with Project DirectorWork with or lead other team members from other IBI officesWork with clients and user groups to develop concepts during schematic design and design development meetingsCoordinate with in-house and external structural, mechanical, electrical, civil and other consultantsOrganize and lead user group, client stakeholder and consultants’ meetingsPrepare meeting minutes and project schedulesPrepare proposals, fee letters, and additional service requestsYou’ll need to have: Master’s degree in Architecture and/or a recognized Institution by the AIBC or AAAA registered architect with the AIBC or AAALEED & Passive House certification preferredMinimum of 3 years of related experience as a project architect, with a focus on multi-family residential high-rise / mid rise mixed-use projectExperience leading design and working drawing phasesContract administration experience is an assetMid-rise wood-frame design and construction knowledgeAbility to understand how buildings are constructed and to create design and technical documents that succinctly describe the design and work to be doneFamiliar with the local Zoning, Policies, Building Code requirementsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishStrong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship-management skillsHighly collaborative and a strong team playerProficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Photoshop, InDesign and various graphic softwareProficient in Rhino and Grasshopper is an assetParametric design skill is an assetAdditional InformationOur employees will find a design environment where collaboration is at the core of the business.
