We are currently seeking a talented Architect for our IBI Group office in Calgary, Alberta. Working with our seniors/affordable housing portfolio of work, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a fast-paced, driven team with a proven success record in both design and technical excellence. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of projects end to end (in REVIT) and will possess strong design skills.You will have hands-on experience going through the full life cycle of an architectural project from preliminary concept design through to detailed design, and production of contract and permit drawings which will include client facing responsibilities and working with AHJ. Part of your responsibilities will be working with remote inter-offices in support of their project efforts. This will include managing staff locally as well as project coordination. The successful individual will also have a keen and creative eye for design along with a strong ability to lead and project manage/coordinate complex projects. Furthermore, you will be a strong critical thinker, and someone who enjoys tackling new challenges and opportunities. If this sounds like YOU, we would like to hear from you!Most of the things you'll work on:Oversee and prepare design and working drawings for a variety of projects,Prepare documents for Building Permit and Tender, Prepare feasibility studies, Work closely with the project team, Coordinate with other architectural and engineering disciplines as well as external consultants to prepare high quality coordinated documents, Work on multiple projects at the same time,Keep up to date on construction practices, products, codes and technologies, Provide support for as required for site visits and contract administration services,Assisting in business development activities.You'll need to have:Minimum University Degree in ArchitectureAt least 5 years of relevant experience in an architectural firm working on a variety of projects within mid to high rise buildings, institutional, industrial, wood frameRegistered with the AAA as an Architect or Intern ArchitectMust have strong hands-on experience with Revit; some experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software is also expectedStrong communication (written and verbal) and time management skills Strong knowledge on Building Codes and SpecificationsAbility to meet project deadlinesStrong leadership capabilities and the ability to direct junior staff to produce presentation and construction documentsStrong client relationship management skillsExperience with leading projects and project coordinationGreat critical thinking skills with the ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.Additional InformationOur employees enjoy all the perks of a big office support system.
