The successful candidate will work on a wide range of projects in Ontario and across Canada with an in-house multi-disciplinary team of industry-leading experts.As an  Associate, Traffic Operations & Parking (Transportation Engineering) in our growing Mobility Advisory team, you will work primarily on projects to transform constrained urban corridors and improve mobility including traffic signal coordination, transit signal priority. You will work closely with our in-house team of planners and engineers located in offices across Canada. You will have the opportunity to work with global industry leaders in a wide range of disciplines to deliver successful urban projects. We are looking for candidates with demonstrated experience on complex traffic operations and parking projects. Notable experience should include a leading role completing operational analysis and simulation of arterial roads and higher order transit. The ideal candidate will have experience working with provincial, regional, and municipal jurisdictions.The role sits within our global business area Mobility. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.Role Responsibilities:Assemble and manage project teams on exciting and challenging projects, with a focus on managing congestion and improving traffic operations on constrained urban corridorsServe as Project Manager in a client-facing role, although project management is not the sole focus of this positionResponsible for maintaining a reputation for high quality on all technical deliverablesSupport the growth and development of the team by empowering, inspiring and energizing the team through project experienceProvide career coaching as reporting manager for multiple professional staffManage staff productivity and utilizationUse judgment to identify and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problemsCreate a sense of shared ownership and accountability balancing this with decisiveness and holding others to account to deliver projects on time and on budgetBuild client relationships by providing excellent customer service and communications, identifying potential market opportunities, leading the preparation of proposals, networking connections, and other business development activitiesContribute to client and project success by focusing on improving quality of life and putting sustainability at the core of all you doContribute to Arcadis' reputation through active participation in professional associations and committeesDeliver high quality proposals, presentations, and reportsLead by example through your own professional developmentQualifications and Experience: Licensed Professional Engineer with PEO or Certified Engineering Technologist with OACETTSeven (7) or more years of experience including a lead role in traffic operations and parking studies such as Project Manager or Technical LeadProgressive experience in project management and business development including responding to RFPsA solid understanding of capacity analysis software (Synchro)Experience with meso- and micro-simulation modelling (VISUM, VISSIM, AIMSUN, Vistro)Experience with roundabout analysis software (ARCADY or RODEL) considered an assetWorking knowledge of City of Toronto guidelines and the application of OTM Book guidanceExperience in curbside management, parking policy review, signal design or civil design considered an assetExcellent analytical and decision-making skills, with a commitment to excellence and high-quality workProven technical writing skills in English with strong interpersonal and organizational skillsProven ability to communicate difficult concepts and persuade others to adopt a different point of viewExperience preparing material for and facilitating meetings with technical agencies and the publicAbility to be flexible and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team, while maintaining quality work within a fast-paced environmentAbility to regularly attend client and public meetings in person in the Greater Toronto AreaAdditional InformationWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
