This role incorporates both civil design and field responsibilities and will be involved in a variety of infrastructure projects (including site grading and servicing, utility coordination, road/lot design), primarily in and around Calgary. These duties may include:Support site, as built and topographic surveysLiaise with contractors for construction process and survey needs, address minor issuesEstablish/confirm quantities for progress claims, advise Area Manager of statusPrepare all Construction Completion Certificate inspectionsParticipate in site inspection reports/monitoringProvide construction monitoring for QA/QCDESIGN:You will be working to complete designs from conceptual through to detailed design drawings, prepare various calculations and land development plans and communicate with a variety of stakeholders and approving agencies. Key responsibilities can include:Provide civil engineering design for urban residential development and municipal infrastructurePrepare calculations, model creation and drawing production reviewsWork with the CAD Team on projects with developing plans, section details and schedulesReview project documents prior to issuance for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracyPrepare construction survey staking plans and earthwork quantitiesComplete all submission documents for approving agencies, ie, PAC, ARA, servicing requestsPrepare conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cost estimatesDiploma in Civil Technology, Engineering Design or Construction Management related fieldCET Designation is preferred1-4 years of Canadian experience related to civil design, civil model creation (using Civil 3D), drawing production AND exposure/experience in construction and/or civil engineering field projectsMust be proficient using Civil 3D with good experience using MS Excel and Word are requiredSuperior interpersonal skills in dealing with team collaboration and stakeholder communicationExcellent organizational skills and ability to write effectivelyDetail oriented as accuracy is essentialPositive, “can-do” attitude with desire for continuous learning and developingAs short-term travel will be required periodically, must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s LicenceAdditional InformationOur employees enjoy all the perks of a big office support system.
