Role description:Arcadis is growing! Arcadis Canada is seeking an Engineering Designer to join our Municipal Engineering practice team in Markham, Ontario. This role sits within the Global Places Resilience Business Area. he successful candidate will co-ordinate and execute activities assigned by Project Managers pertaining to the execution of civil projects including infrastructure and design projects. Role accountabilities:Preparing of preliminary and detailed designs in conveyance infrastructure under the direction of the Project ManagerCheck and verify design drawings to conform to design standards including MECP, and local development standards.Communication with Federal/Provincial Ministries, Municipalities, Conservation Agencies, etc. to identify and define permits and approvals requirements.Utility coordinationDevelop online public engagement presentation, evaluating and incorporating all public and agencies correspondences.Develop design reports, construction cost estimates, construction documents and specifications for conveyance projects.Assisting in the preparation of engineering proposal and/or technical writing submissionsAssisting in the preparation of project scheduleOther related duties, as assigned.Qualifications & Experience:A graduate of a Civil engineering program or equivalent.Preferably with 2-3 years of engineering experience in conveyance infrastructure projects.Previous experience working in a consulting engineering environment.Registered with PEO would be preferred.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.A keen eye for details.Ability objectively to evaluate problems and opportunities.Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Additional InformationWhy Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
