Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Field Inspector will oversee day to day site activity and provide detailed daily observations and record keeping services for the installation of all development related works. These activities may include (but not limited to) earthworks, underground servicing, secondary road works and lot grading conformance and/or municipal engineering works including liner and vertical infrastructure.This role requires strong public relations skills and the ability to accurately communicate project related information to clients, contractors, municipal staff, or any other project stakeholder as required.Most of the Things You’ll Work On: Monitor and document construction site activities and discussionsPrepare detailed daily site inspection/progress reports and collect digital photo records of site activityInterpret construction drawings and specifications and inspect to ensure compliance with the designAdvise the contractor and Team Lead immediately of any observed deviation from the approved design drawings or any safety or environmental issuesInspection of the materials, methods, and construction processes of structures, buildings, mechanical and electrical installations, water and wastewater facilities, sewers, watermains, utilities and roadsObtain and/or verify detailed servicing as-built informationReview contractor submissions such as shop drawings, RFIs, CCTV inspectionsConduct detailed erosion and sediment control inspections and preparation of reportsAdvise Team Lead of any potential contractor extra work claims or potential cost/time saving observationsReview and verify contractor’s payment requests and progress claims.Attend pre-construction meetings, site progress meetings, and document, prepare and distribute records of meetingsLiaise with homeowners, municipalities, conservation authorities, contractors, and clients as requiredCoordinate sub-consultant inspectors and reviews, and contractor and municipal staff to carry out maintenance/assumption inspections and repairsConduct day-to-day tasks in accordance to legislated and Company-dictated Environmental, Health and Safety mandates and other Company policies You'll need to have:Knowledgeable in construction of civil components including (but not limited to) earthworks, underground servicing, secondary road works and lot grading conformance and/or municipal engineering works including liner and vertical infrastructureAbility to interpret construction drawings and specificationsExcellent communication, organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projectsStrong work ethic, motivation, interpersonal and judgment skillsProficiency in computer systems, software and typing necessaryHealth and Safety training will be provided as requiredCollege or University Engineering Diploma, PEO and O.A.C.E.T.T. designation an assetFamiliarity with Ontario Building Code, OPSS, OH&SA; and standards and regulations relevant to building and constructionAdditional InformationOur employees will find a design environment where collaboration is at the core of the business.
