Role: ITS Engineer Location: United States (Remote) Arcadis is seeking an ITS Engineer to join our Intelligent Transportation Systems Engineering team in our Seattle office, USA. This role sits within the Global Intelligence Business Area. The Transportation Engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) practice at Arcadis IBI Group is very active in the planning, design and implementation of information technologies to optimize the transportation of people and goods. At present, we have a portfolio of projects that involve the design and implementation of ITS for bus rapid transit, tolling, communications, adaptive traffic control, transit signal priority, vehicle tracking, electronic fare collection, surveillance, and control systems. Role Accountabilities:Work with senior designers and project teams on the development of plans and specifications for ITS and communications infrastructure; Support development of schedules and cost estimates; Conduct design progress reviews with project teams (internal and client-facing); Research and development of technology solutions for ITS projects; Contribute to ITS Strategic Plans; Development of traffic signal timing plans, using micro-simulation software; Contribute to the development of surface rapid transit system designs and strategies; Coordinate and work with junior transportation/ITS engineering staff in the performance of work; Preparation of Transportation Impact Assessments and parking studies; Support field inspections and system testing activities, including review of proposed test procedures; Contribute to the preparation of proposals to obtain new work. The estimated salary range for this position is between $77,000 - $86,000 USDQualifications & Experience:The candidate must have a degree in either Civil or Electrical Engineering; A minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in the fields of transportation engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems; Excellent analytical skills that should be demonstrable through previous work experience; Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications; Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation applications desired.Engineer-in-Training certification desired; Substantial experience in dealing with both public sector and private sector agencies.
