Arcadis is looking to hire a Senior Construction Manager to lead a large industrial construction project in automotive sector with our Places Team business unit in our north Mexico area at the client site location in Saltillo Coahuila. This is an on-site role for a large client of the automotive sector. As a Senior Construction Manager, you will lead a group of construction project managers and large team of professionals to ensure that projects adhere to client requirements and business goals by driving all project plans, managing cross-functional teams, and coordinating activities within the established project timelines set forth by the client. You will play crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of physical work at project site(s) by overseeing operations and construction activities. Reporting directly to the Client Project Manager, your primary responsibilities will be to coordinate and manage a large team of contractors, consultants, and project teams, in multiple and simultaneous projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules, safety policies, and quality standards. Applications without these attachments will be rejected.Position on a project-based contract basis with the possibility of extending it to an indefinite contract within the companyFull time (40 hrs pw Monday to Friday)This position is located on the client’s siteRole accountabilities:Oversee Contractor Performance: Monitor and evaluate the performance of contractors and consultants, ensuring that they meet project requirements and deliverables.Project Schedule Adherence: Ensure that contractors and consultants adhere to the project schedule, identifying and addressing any delays or issues that may arise.Safety Compliance: Coordinate and manage all aspects related to safety, making sure that contractors comply with the client’s safety polices and conducting safety audits when required.Quality Assurance: Verify that the Contractor’s work aligns with the construction contract, project plans, specifications, and other relevant contract documents to prevent defects and deficiencies.Stakeholder Communication: Build trust and partnership with colleagues, client representatives, and contractor’s personnel through effective communication and interpersonal skills.Collaboration: interface with client representatives, program managers, design builders, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective collaboration and smooth project execution.Conflict Management: Manage conflicts professionally and objectively, fostering positive relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders.Team Management: Utilize your experience in managing large teams to ensure high team performance, morale, defined roles and responsibilities, and strong collaboration.Technical Expertise: Demonstrate technical expertise in one or more of the following areas. Constructability Assessment, Earthworks, Utilities, Steel Construction, Concrete Structures, Civil Works, Façade and Envelope Construction, Supplies and Media in industrial facilities in the automotive or manufacturing sectors.Key attributes:Experience managing capital or mission critical projects within the private sector preferably in automotive or manufacturing industry. Ability to thrive in a deadline project environment.Able to meet and manage client and stakeholder’s expectations. Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s Degree: in Civil Engineering (or Architecture), Construction, Construction Management, or a related field (Degree required).Master’s degree would be beneficial – Civil, Structural, Mechanical / Electrical (Engineering) preferable.A minimum of 20 years of extensive experience in various land development projects managing Greenfield and Brownfield Construction Projects (industrial property and industrial buildings specially in automotive industry)Proven experience managing multiple and simultaneous projects.Proven experience managing a large team of consultants, contractors and sub-contractors, client representatives and authority officials at a senior level.Deep knowledge of Project Management with demonstrated experience in managing sites, site coordination and client representation.Proven effective project and construction management skills in medium – large construction projects.Full command of verbal and written English communications skills.Deep knowledge of local and international construction codes.Strong leadership skills and ability to manage and overseeing others works.Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.Demonstrate to have a strong work ethic and being a highly motivated and self-driving person.Strong software skills related to project management.PMP or PMC certification preferredPrimavera (P6) preferredAdditional InformationWhy Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
