Arcadis is looking to hire a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support industrial construction projects in automotive sector with our Places Team business unit in our north Mexico area at the client site location in Saltillo Coahuila. This is an on-site role for a large client of the automotive sector.The Electrical Engineer will develop and manage projects for the construction of new or modification to existing mixed use, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings & structures, ensuring conformance with building codes. Perform responsible, professional level mechanical analysis, building and inspections. A heavy portion of this role will be focused on infrastructure and industrial projects. Project experience in this area is expected.Position on a project-based contract basis with the possibility of extending it to an indefinite contract within the companyFull time (40 hrs pw Monday to Friday)This position is located on the client’s siteRole accountabilities:Prepares electrical designs and drawings of building facilities and building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, PA, IT, etc., using computer-aided tools (e.g. ETAP analytical software, CDEGS grounding software, Revit, AutoCad, and MicroStation CAD systems)Facilitate the administration of construction stage of Electrical Engineering Services in the Building Industry, especially in Industrial Buildings.Represent IBI and Engineer of Record at construction meetings and site reviewsConduct site reviews to ensure adherence to Contract Documents (drawings and specifications) and relevant code (CEC and BC Building Code) requirementsPrepare and distribute site reviews reportsReview of shop drawingsReview of maintenance manualsReview NOCs, COs, estimates etc.Review and evaluate contractor’s claim for progress paymentAssist to identify cost-effective solutions to design problemsLeads electrical design teams on larger multi-discipline projectsLiaises internally with project managers and other discipline project leaders to obtain project information and to discuss specific design related problemsLiaise with Coordinating Professional, other Consultants, Owner and ContractorsAssists in creating and presenting technical reports regarding the nature, status, and results of design or study assignmentsRequires the ability to recognize the implications of assigned work on the work of other disciplines, and ensures the necessary coordination occursProvide interpretation for technical drawings and specificationsIssue Notice of Changes and evaluate proposed costs for additional and/or deletion of items to the contractReview reports from testing agenciesWork closely with Engineer of Record and project team membersQualifications and Experience:A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering plus 8-10 years’ experience in buildings electrical systems design preferred in a consulting environmentMaster’s degree would be beneficialFull command of verbal and written English communication skillsStrong skills in the use of the REVIT modeling system is an assetElectrical design and specification experience in the following building systems: power distribution in buildings, lighting design, fire alarm systems, card access and camera security systems, PA systems, telecommunications systems and audio-visual systemsExperience in the electrical engineering or electrical trade, specifically extra low voltage systems, in the building construction industryStrong knowledge and understanding of the Mexican and International Electrical Safety CodesStrong written and verbal communications skills with working experience in leading meetings and making presentationsWorking knowledge and application of building code and electrical code.Working knowledge of construction lawWorking knowledge of lump sum or stipulated sum design/bid/build, design-build, and construction management delivery modelsMust be proficient in using Microsoft office suites (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)Working knowledge and experience with online collaboration and project management tools such as NewForma, OneHub, BIM360, Sharepoint/OneDrive, Aconex or similarAdditional InformationWhy Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
