The successful candidate must have a passion for design, be creative, organized and self-motivated. The successful candidate will help lead projects from the initial conceptual design phase, through to contract documentation, implementation and close-out. Working with a variety of clients and trades, the successful candidate must be capable of clear communication to effectively manage projects from commencement to completion.Most of the Things You’ll Work On: Develops and coordinates exceptional detailed design concepts and leadership, with the ability to develop functional requirements and inspirational approach to meet project-design criteriaWith input from the project Lead, oversee the interior design process and deliverable, establish project direction and work within project budgets and schedulesAbility to manage multiple projects and a team of designers to deliver all phases of the projectAbility to coordinate with contractors as well as: mechanical, electrical, structural, lighting, audio-visual, and clientDemonstrates clear understanding of the architectural design process, and how to effectively integrate interior elements and concepts with minimal supervisionAble to effectively review preliminary space plans and designs concepts to ensure code, accessibility and functional requirements are metStrong understanding of contract administrationAbility to review shop drawings and submittalsAbility to produce innovative design concepts that meet the client and project needs, while also respecting the project budgetDisplays strong project management skillsAble to make decisions and develop solutions to technical and design problemsConceptualize and describe design ideas through 3D visualization and hand-sketchingStrong knowledge of finish materials, furniture, FF&E, and applicable reference standardsLead in the preparation of design and construction documents to generate detailed design solutionsInterface with clients, contractors, and consultants; lead project meetings & client presentationsDemonstrate understanding of building codes and accessibility codes/standardsAble to delegate, as well as mentor/train intermediate and junior designersYou'll Need To Have:A professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture, or equivalentMinimum 5+ years of residential/hospitality interiors focused project experienceARIDO intern member or registered memberExcellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skillsKnowledge of Master Specification Format would be considered an assetProficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and MS OfficeRevit experience would be considered an assetStrong organizational and project management skills with an ability to collaborate with team membersResidential design experience is essentialAdditional InformationLocated at 55 St. Clair Ave West, this office is steps away from St. Clair station and is easily accessible by bike, TTC and car. Occupying 7 floors, with over 700 employees, it is the largest office at Arcadis IBI Group. The floors are open concept and represent our collaborative approach to projects.
