Arcadis is seeking a senior lead designer to join its mixed-use studio located in Los Angeles. This position collaborates with a diverse and creative team, dedicated to excellence in design and innovative problem solving. This position requires someone who initiates design concepts and leads the development of design.Role Responsibilities:Partner with the studio manager to establish a planning and design vision.Lead the design for multiple mixed-use projects primarily domestic.Present and sell design solutions at client meetings and public hearings.Communicate openly, embrace mentorship and nurture the next generation of designers.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree in ArchitectureProfessional licensure preferred.Minimum 18 years of experience10+ years as a "project lead designer" in an Architect's officePortfolio of built work as a lead designerAdvanced master-planning and building planning skills.Ability to advance a design through all project phases – from concept to detail developmentExperience designing domestic, large scale mixed-use projects with a focus of expertise on Hotel, Residential, Retail and Offices. Understanding of market trends of these sectors and ability to tailor designs to client’s business objectives. California project experience preferred.Advanced visual communication skillsAdvanced freehand drawings skills (pencil or digital) comfortable sketching in front of clients during meetings.Extensive experience presenting plans and architecture during in person and virtually to clients and city design commissions.Advanced skills in Rhino, SketchUp, Photoshop & Illustrator Capabilities in parametric and advanced computational design is valued.Basic proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, MiroUnderstanding and passion for sustainable design principles and building systems.Desire to drive a culture of design excellence at the office level as well as regionally and globally within the practice.The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $180,000/year.Additional InformationWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
