AIBI Group currently has outstanding opportunities for passionate and professional individuals looking to begin an exciting career in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).We currently have full-time, part-time, and casual openings for Traffic Operations Centre (TOC) Operators at the City of Toronto Traffic Operations Centre.The City of Toronto TOC is located at 703 Don Mills Rd North York, ONThe work involves operating a variety of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices and information systems on a multi-monitor computer workstation to monitor roadways for ongoing traffic incidents along with dispatching and coordinating with First Responders, disseminating traveller information and database entry.The Toronto TOC operates 24/7/365, which involves multiple shift times and holiday workdays are required. Starting pay is $19 hr.The ideal candidate will have specialized experience and subject matter knowledge of the following though no prior TOC / ITS work experience is required.High school or GED DiplomaCandidate must have in-depth experience with Windows PCs and proficient in the use of a multi-monitor computer workstation with the ability to quickly enter and manage a real-time data entry database.In-depth knowledge of the Toronto geography and roadway network.Skills in interpersonal relationships and ability to work well within a diverse group.Ability to clearly communicate information over a radio system or network.Ability and skillset to use freeway management and other traffic control computer application and technologies such as cameras, variable message signs, sensors, and control devices.Be self-motivated with the use of these systems to maintain a situational awareness on the City's entire road network.Previous experience writing reports, and correspondence considered an asset.Ability to coordinate real time activities and priorities.Capability to take calls, dispatch on a radio or telephone and otherwise communicate in a clear and concise manner.Good organization skills to monitor several systems and events simultaneously.Good communications skills to perform tasks such as dispatching City staff and contracted crews for routine and emergency road traffic maintenance activities.Ability to use sound judgement while collecting, reviewing, validating, and disseminating road restriction/closure information to the public and always communicate professionally.In-depth knowledge of Toronto geography and highway system.Additional InformationWhy you should work for Arcadis IBI Group:Our employees will find a design environment where collaboration is at the core of the business.
