Toronto’s Planning practice is seeking an Urban Planner to join their team. The role will be involved in supporting other planners on policy and land development related assignments, assisting in obtaining development approvals, due diligence reports, highest and best use analyses, and consulting with a range of stakeholders.This role sits within the Global Architecture & Urbanism Division which combines the expertise of IBI’s Buildings and Placemaking practice, our Places’ capabilities, and CRTKL’s multi-sector design leadership to offer a diverse range of solutions focusing on human-centric design, sustainability, and technology. Role Responsibilities:Assist within a range of policy and land use planning projectsConduct research, highest and best use reviews, and planning policy analysisCoordinate and input on site plans, master plans and municipal and regional planning strategiesCoordinate and prepare planning applications, planning reports, and other documents in order to secure approvals through the development processPublic consultation, including creation and delivery of presentations for public meetings, open houses and workshopsPrepare proposals and contracts for public and private sector clientsSupport other planners and designersQualifications and Experience:University or College Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, or equivalentWorking towards membership with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) and the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP)0-3 years of relevant planning experience in land development and land use planningUnderstanding of the planning and development processes in OntarioAnalytical thinker and creative problem solver with high attention to detailExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to work individually or in a team environmentExceptional written and oral communication skillsUser functionality in MS Office products.
