Our Edmonton office is looking for a dynamic, energetic, and professional Intermediate or Senior Urban Planner to join its team. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including Neighbourhood and Area Structure Plans, Outline Plans, Land Use and re-zonings, Due Diligence Reports, Infill developments, Development Permit and project management and coordination. Given that our projects are primarily local - in and around Edmonton, the successful candidate's location must be IN or NEAR Edmonton.Most of the things you’ll be working on:Undertake a range of planning assignments including land development, community planning, urban design, and land use studiesConduct due diligence research, field work, analysis and report writing, site analysis, site design, strategic planning, and municipal policy overviewsReview, and manage the approval process for multiple land use planning applicationsAssist in business development and the preparation of proposals and contracts for clients for planning assignments and multi-disciplinary projectsContribute to all aspects of land use planning projects with a preferred interest and focus on land development, subdivision planning, site design and/or urban design. Prepare municipal planning documents and policies (Outline Plan, ASP, NSP and zoning by-laws)Lead, manage and support multiple planning projectsSupport Public Engagement processes from process design through to implementationAnalyze development situations from competing points of viewYou'll need to have:Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Geography, or a related disciplineMinimum of 5-6 years of relevant land use planning or land development experience Membership in Alberta Professional Planners Institute/Canadian Institute of Planners (APPI/CIP)Experience in project managementExperience in the implementation of provincial and local planning policies and processesExperience with Public Engagement processes and strategies Ability to work individually or in a team environmentStrong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skillsKnowledge and strong proficiency with MS Office - Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelExcellent time management and organizational skills, with a high attention to detailWritten and oral communication expertiseAdditional InformationOur Staff enjoy the benefits of a hybrid work model.
