Role Overview
This full-time, permanent position offers a comprehensive architectural role encompassing design development, project coordination, and client liaison. Additionally, the role involves responsibilities in team leadership and management. Based in a vibrant Central London studio, the position operates under a flexible hybrid working policy, requiring a minimum of two office days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects or work packages.
Engage in all RIBA Plan of Work stages (0–7), from inception to completion.
Interpret and implement client-specific processes, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Manage key project elements, including briefs, budgets, timelines, and deliverables such as drawings, schedules, and reports.
Oversee project assistants’ tasks, ensuring timely delivery, and participate in design meetings, workshops, and presentations.
Design Development:
Develop creative, technically sound design solutions that meet client aspirations and industry standards.
Coordinate structural, MEP, and specialist design elements into cohesive project plans.
Contribute to internal design reviews and prepare high-quality presentation materials.
Stay informed on construction legislation and technical advancements through continuous professional development (CPD).
Commercial Oversight:
Monitor commercial risks and escalate concerns to senior team members as needed.
Track resource allocation and profit targets, assisting in managing work within defined constraints.
Document and secure approval for project changes affecting time, cost, or quality.
Quality Assurance:
Adhere to established quality management systems, ensuring compliance with project CAD/BIM plans and standardized documentation.
Support internal and external audits of project work.
Team Leadership:
Foster a dynamic, motivated team environment, contributing to its structure and identifying training needs.
Provide occasional reports on resources, fees, or design issues as required by leadership.
Business Development:
Identify opportunities for growth and collaborate on bids or submissions for new projects.
Maintain an up-to-date professional profile for marketing purposes.
Requirements
Proven architectural experience with a robust portfolio showcasing technical and design expertise.
Strong technical knowledge of building technology, codes, standards, and specifications.
Proficiency in industry-standard software, including Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and InDesign.
Excellent communication skills (spoken, written, and graphical) and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
Registration with the Architects Registration Board (ARB) is essential.
