As a result of a growing diverse client base and increasing project work, we are searching for a Project Architect (5+ years) with a focus on interior architecture to join our team in Mexico City. In this role, you will provide design support for completion/execution of design concepts, prepare schematic and design development drawings, resolve design issues, analyze design options, and execute projects through construction administration. You must have prior experience working directly with contractors. The individual will be working with the team to complete assignments on schedule and with great quality to meet our clients’ expectations. You will be expected to resolve technical/design issues to maintain progress and quality control and to communicate between the project team and consultants. You will be responsible to meet building codes, budgets, and all necessary deadlines in order to fully meet client expectations.What You Will DoAssist with the design and delivery of the architectural and/or technical aspects of a project.Possess knowledge of architectural design principals, technical details, codes, and material characteristics.Providing project team coordination for the finished plans, specification, and material selections required for construction.Preparing and ensuring accuracy of technical documents.Working with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.Produce architectural drawings.Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials.Other assigned responsibilities.Your QualificationsBachelor of Architecture or foreign equivalent.5+ years of experience in a commercial design firm, that must include at least 2 years in commercial interiors.100% bilingual English/Spanish, well written with excellent verbal communication skillsProficiency in REVIT, Sketch Up, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft office. Additional software skills in AutoCAD, 3d Max, Illustrator, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Autodesk Certified are a plus.Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures.Strong leadership, communications and relationship management skills.Construction documentation and/or design detail development experience.Ability to handle difficult situations with tact, grace and emotional intelligence.Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility on various project types.Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.Strong organizational skills.Has the ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships.Life at GenslerAt Gensler, we are as committed to enjoying life as we are to delivering best-in-class design.
