Overview:
At Zaha Hadid Architects, we are seeking to hire Architectural Assistants on a fixed-term contract to join our growing team in London. In this role you will be closely working with Architects/Designers to support the senior team in delivering the quality of design that upholds the reputation of ZHA in the marketplace. You will be able to work on projects, following instruction from others, and carry out research, analyse and design options for your line manager.
Main responsibilities:
- Take a brief in-house and respond effectively, referring as required, to ensure work remains on track.
- Work with the senior team to create competition entries that respond successfully to the brief and reflect the design ethos of ZHA.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of legislation: H&S, Building Regulations, professional Code of Conduct, etc.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the suitability and performance of materials and components, in the context of real-life projects.
- Be aware that budget, time and contractual constraints are an integral element of the design process.
- Create construction information under supervision, such that a building can be costed and built.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of construction processes and logistics.
- Attend all project meetings as requested.
- To develop reliable recommendations and implications, supported by rigorous understanding of analysis.
- Make simple but effective presentations to colleagues in-house, understanding the importance in clarity of technical information.
- Respect and work within the practice management and administration frameworks.

Skills Required
- Software skills such as 3D, 2D, CAD, Word processing, Revit.
Required experience
- Part I or Part II qualified architect (or the equivalent).
