About the Role
As an Associate, you will take a pivotal role in leading and coordinating innovative design teams on large-scale residential projects, including build-to-rent, for-sale, and adaptive reuse developments. This is a role for someone who excels in both design leadership and client engagement, ensuring that projects are delivered to the highest standard while maintaining the practice’s ethos of sustainability and design excellence.
You will work closely with clients, contractors, and consultants, confidently presenting design ideas and solving complex challenges. Collaboration is key, and you'll be expected to inspire and motivate your team while also taking initiative and driving projects forward independently.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate design teams, managing projects through all RIBA work stages.
Present design solutions clearly and confidently to both internal and external stakeholders.
Solve complex building and design challenges through collaboration with external consultants.
Ensure that all work complies with building standards and demonstrates an exceptional level of construction detailing.
Play an integral role in resource planning, fee calibration, and project coordination.
Maintain a high level of Revit proficiency, ensuring that all design work is produced efficiently and accurately.
Engage with sustainable design solutions to align projects with future-focused practices.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience in multi-unit residential projects and will be able to clearly communicate and implement design solutions. You should have excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong understanding of building standards and construction detailing. Experience across all RIBA work stages is highly valued, as is proficiency in Revit.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in leading and coordinating design teams.
Ability to confidently present and communicate design solutions to diverse teams.
Expertise in multi-unit residential architecture is essential.
Strong knowledge of UK building standards and construction detailing.
Proficiency in Revit is essential.
Experience working across all RIBA stages is advantageous.
Knowledge of resource planning and fee calibration is a plus (guidance provided if needed).
