About the Role
As the Business Development and Marketing Manager, you will be a vital force in driving the studio’s growth and market presence, both in the UK and internationally. Working closely with the leadership team, you will develop a strategic sales and marketing plan, identifying opportunities to expand the studio’s influence and secure new business. The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, driven, and professional, with a proven ability to work autonomously and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and generate new business opportunities through thorough market research and strategic analysis.
Understand and communicate the studio’s values, goals, and unique selling points to potential clients.
Build and maintain strong, lasting client relationships, while exploring new avenues for business growth.
Support directors in writing fee proposals and developing pitch materials.
Create engaging and consistent marketing content across digital and print, including bid documents, mailouts, and presentations.
Organize and attend networking events to increase the studio’s visibility in the industry.
Lead the development and management of a CRM system to track opportunities and client engagement.
Collaborate on marketing strategy with leadership and manage partnerships with external agencies for press and award submissions.
Manage the studio’s digital presence, driving content for social media and ensuring consistency in brand messaging.
Research speaking opportunities for leadership at industry events and conferences.
About You
You are a proactive and experienced professional with a background in business development and marketing in the architecture or design industry. You are passionate about architecture’s ability to make a social and environmental impact, and you thrive in creative, fast-paced environments. Your communication skills allow you to build rapport easily with clients and colleagues, and you excel at creating and managing strategic growth initiatives.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in business development and marketing within the architecture, design, or related fields.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Affinity is a plus.
Strong client relationship management skills and the ability to translate the studio’s ethos into winning business strategies.
A clear understanding of UK market trends and opportunities within the architecture industry.
Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and flexibility.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an eye for detail in creating compelling marketing content.
