Supports and carries out the strategic vision for marketing/business implementation at HKS by collaborating with respective practices disciplines and regions on the needs of their marketplaces; collaborating with MarCom to provide resources and support of BD planning and execution. Self-starter, able to influence and drive change, to deal with ambiguity and demonstrate results to the business. Manages the firm’s resources (people, processes and tools) and assignments with proficiency, fluency and aptitude.Responsibilities:Revenue or Opportunity GenerationConducts market analysis to inform yearly BD planning and targeted client listsLeads sector marketing/business implementation within practices and regionsWorks directly with the sector and practice leaders on marketing strategy and messaging, practice implementation plans and target clientsCollaborates with office, practice and sector leadership to establish yearly business development plans and targeted clientsFocuses on growing presence and market share in identified markets aligned with HKS’s practice and geographic areas of strategic growthHelps identify trends and areas of opportunity within the Hospitality Industry by leveraging their connections and knowledge, as well as HKS’.Leads pursuit and development activity of new client relationships for HKS, focusing on targeted markets and clientsExecutes yearly business development plans working with project teams and practice and regional leadershipCreates capture plans for yearly targeted clients and executing on those capture plans working with project teams and practice and regional leadershipCollaborates, develops and establishes relationships with prospective clients within assigned and across practices and officesPositions firm as a thought leader and problem solver to clients and influencersCommunicates the HKS story and knows the key projects to be able to speak knowledgeably of the firm's capabilities, industry insights and best practicesRepresents HKS and finds opportunities to connect with potential clients through participation of local, regional and national events, including conferencesCollaborates in the preparation of materials for business development introductions and relationship buildingCollaborates, develops and establishes relationships with prospective clients within assigned and across practices and officesCollaborates with pursuit champion and team on RFx response and interview to enhance deliverablesCoordinates internal and external pursuit debrief with appropriate parties shares that information as appropriateParticipates in client calls with other business developers and leaders as neededCollaborates in developing regional BD and marketing eventsCulturalEndorses the firm’s cultural values, including a commitment to quality, innovation, learning and growthActs with positive, service-driven attitude with a commitment to going above and beyond to help clients and team membersActs as a mentor by coaching project teams, especially during the pursuit processCollaborates across practices/offices on client relations and connectionsResolves conflict effectively and encourages a healthy team environmentFosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the project teams, including promoting communication and creating approachabilityFinancialCollaborates with practice and regional leadership to create annual business development plans that inform our annual budgeting processMay lead as champion or collaborate in managing pursuit projects to satisfy requirements with best possible ROICollaborates on development of annual regional marketing budget including conference attendance and forecasted travelManages the marketing and business development spend for each pursuitQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales or related degree10+ years of experience within the A/E/C and Hospitality industryTypically with 15+ years of business development, strategic initiatives or development experience, Hospitality industry experience preferredExperience with Salesforce or another CRM systemProficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPointKnowledge of and interest in architecture/interior design/landscapeSuccessful track record with managing a team and performing duties in a fast-paced environmentProven sales track record of establishing and maintaining partner relationships for immediate and on-going sales successExperience in developing lasting client relationshipsExcellent attention to detail and commitment to excellenceExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and clients;
