Our Calgary design studio is seeking a full-time, highly-motivated Landscape Architecture Technologist to join our team. Top candidates will have a high level of proficiency in design communication, producing working drawings using Autodesk based software, excellent graphic communications skills, and have proactive/organized working traits. This position is perfect for someone with a thirst for exploring design ideas collaboratively on teams, mentoring under award winning landscape architects, planners, and architects through all phases of a project lifecycle.
You will have the opportunity to become involved in the planning and design of public and private projects across a range of scales and uses with a variety of developer, municipal, and federal clients. You will build new relationships with some of our more than 300 landscape architecture staff firm wide. This position offers the opportunity to become involved in unique Landscape Architecture projects across Western Canada and contribute to the larger North American practice. If desired, time can be split between working at home and from our open concept studio on a broad range of projects.
**Your Key Responsibilities:**
+ Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Support design teams with site analysis, grading, concept design, production of construction documents, project presentation graphics, and construction administration efforts.
+ A desire to remain knowledgeable in general Landscape Architecture practice while developing a specialty focus area.
+ Producing design support graphics using both hand and digital drawing and rendering techniques.
+ An eagerness to continually learn and develop one’s professional skills.
+ Be willing and able to work in a virtual environment to support projects across North American as well as international project opportunities.
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Credentials:**
The successful candidate will possess the following:
+ 5 years of professional experience,
+ A diploma/degree that support’s the Landscape Architecture profession. Degree should be from an accredited university, or a diploma from a technical college focused on landscape architecture, or a combination of landscape architecture related education and experience.
+ Skills required include strong command of digital drafting software, technical design layout, grading, planting and detailing of design projects of all sizes.
+ Solid graphic and digital design and documentation skills.
+ Current membership in the Alberta Association of Landscape Architects is preferred, but not required for candidates.
**Education and Experience:**
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
+ Working knowledge of Land F/X and Revit software packages are not required, but considered preferential.
+ Construction and maintenance administration field experience are not required, but considered preferential.
+ A high degree of skill in the Adobe suite of graphic software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc) considered a bonus.
+ Ability to utilize rendering and modeling software such as Sketchup, Rhino, Lumion, etc., considered a bonus
The successful candidate is highly motivated, with strong communication skills, is passionate about design, possesses strong time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Has the ability to multitask and self-manage work tasks to meet project milestones and deadlines.
