Your role is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients while mentoring junior designers to achieve inspiring, impactful design. What You Will DoUtilize your experience with all phases of Interior Design project deliverables from Concept Design through Construction Administration to realize a successful design conceptWork independently or with minor oversight to perform assignments including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentationProduce mood, material and design presentations independently or with minimal supervisionProduce furniture plans, specifications, material selections and schedules needed for construction documentation independently or with minimal supervisionParticipate in client and consultant meetingsEffectively communicate design ideas by hand sketching and/or digital graphicsTrain and mentor junior designers Utilize knowledge of hospitality furniture and technology, and custom furniture and lighting solutions, finishes, materials, color selections, and ID specificationsIndependently create material palettes and inspiration image boardsSpace plan in various aspects of WorkYour Qualifications Bachelor's or master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school10-15 years of experience, with at least 10 years of recent workspace sector focused interior design experience with responsibilities as described aboveCompleted several retail projects from concept to completionHigh taste level, excellent color sense, and great passion for work space and interiors designExcellent graphic design, organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skillsPassionate, self-starting, intelligent, dedicated, efficientEnjoys both taking responsibility and team collaborationDetailed understanding of FFE design and deliverablesExperience directing and providing leadership for design teams from business development presentations through developing strategy and design conceptsStrong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skillsAbility to provide critical design review to design teams, communicating design ideas and direction quicklyDemonstrated success building, nurturing and fostering new client relationshipsAbility to work closely with design directors across the firm to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy, and to facilitate its advancement across the firmLife at GenslerAt Gensler, we are as committed to enjoying life as we are to delivering best-in-class design.
