Environmental Graphic Designer ZGF is seeking an Environmental/ Experiential Graphic Designer to join our team in our Los Angeles office. You will work in a collaborative environment to create a holistic experience in a built environment through experiential graphics and wayfinding & signage. You will also be part of all phases of the architectural project from programming, conceptual design, design development, and documenting through implementation.The base compensation range for this role is $65,000 to $75,000 annually, dependent on education and experience. Job duties for the Environmental Graphic Designer will encompass different areas, such as…GeneralHighly creative, open minded, and self-motivated designer who will bring positive energy to the teamCollaborative designer that works well in an interdisciplinary, fast-paced environment, as well as ability to work autonomously.Understands branding concepts and their integration in the built environmentStrong skills in typography, composition and layout, proportion, color, and wayfinding and information designContributes to ideation and creative problem solving during internal brain storming sessionsMaintains open communication within team and senior designersCoordinates with architects and other external design team members to meet project requirements and deadlines.Working knowledge of sign and environmental graphics production materials and methodsTakes increasing ownership on tasks within project teams and studio activities.Schematic DesignGenerates multiple initial concepts based on research and analysis, and a strong understanding of the client’s needs and objectives.Effectively communicates design concepts, both verbally and visually, through sketching, 2D illustration, and 3D visualizationSupports the preparation of client presentation materialsDrafts meeting notes for distribution and keep track of client feedbackDesign DevelopmentDevelops and documents design to include scaled, dimensioned drawings with specific material selectionsCoordinates effectively with internal architecture and interior teams to gather necessary assetsDevelops plan diagrams and elevationsDesign Intent packageSupports transition of design documents into a detailed set, including technical details, specifications, and message schedulesConstruction AdministrationCreates production ready artworkCoordinates with vendors and General Contractors for samples and mockupsAssists the Senior Designer in managing the fabrication and installation phasesQualifications:3-5 years of relevant professional experienceMinimum of bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related fieldStrong experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop specifically)Working knowledge of CAD ToolsKnowledge in 3D rendering skills in Sketch-up or similar a plus, but not requiredFamiliarity with applicable codes, including ADAUnderstanding of architectural scales and drawings – able to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings.Desire and ability to travel if neededApply With: ResumePortfolioZGF Architects LLP is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
