    Job Description

    We are looking for a creative and passionate designer who can play support our growing landscape design team.

    The interaction between exterior design and architecture is an iconic feature of our high-profile projects and masterplans. The individual will work alongside our integrated design teams helping with landscape concepts, supporting the team with graphics, diagrams and plans and creating detailed 3d models to develop innovative landscape packages in line with the studio's design values.

    The ideal candidate has a genuine interest in collaborative design, is team driven with a strong background in landscape design, excellent writing and presentation skills and a degree-level education in landscape architecture.

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

    • Assist with developing landscape packages in collaboration with the Project Leader, Landscape Leader and Designers across the project.
    • Help to coordinate within teams to ensure the integration of high-quality landscape design packages in all project stages.
    • Create sustainable, innovative and interactive landscape design ideas.
    • Assists in coordinating with consultants and contractors to ensure our deliverables are according to our design values and quality requirements.
    • Attends research on suitable vegetation for projects located in different biomes and ecosystems across the globe, including those which face the impacts of climate change, global warming and rising sea levels.
    • Helps to prepare and promote landscape design input for planning applications and submissions following the agreed client instructions.
    • Occasionally work on tasks outside the scope of Landscape Design if required. Heatherwick Studio is a multidisciplinary, collaborative studio working on different project typologies. Therefore, having an open mind and team spirit is a must-have requirement for all Studio Members.

     Skills and Experience

    • A higher education degree in Landscape Architecture;
    • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience working on international landscape projects or multidisciplinary projects with a strong focus on landscape and urban design;
    • Ideally, experience in all project stages but with a focus on Concept and Schematic design (RIBA stages 2 and 3);
    • Able to work proficiently in Rhino 3D, AutoCAD, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
    • Revit experience desirable;
    • A passion for a creative approach to design and the iteration of ideas;
    • Experience in sustainable landscape design solutions is beneficial.
