Human Resource Business Partner ZGF is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our Portland, OR office. The HR Business Partner will help build the capability and success of the firm by providing leadership and guidance to assigned client groups to drive a high-engagement culture and achieve operational excellence. This individual will apply an advanced generalist knowledge, as well as specialized expertise in talent management and HR operations, to drive firm priorities. This leader will also serve as a strategic member of the People + Culture (P+C) team with the opportunity to craft firmwide people priorities and lead change management initiatives.This position will directly support approximately 270 employees in ZGF’s Portland, OR location with potential to additionally support ZGF’s LA office of approximately 100 employees.As an HR Business Partner, you will….Partner with leaders in assigned client group(s) to drive people strategy including talent management, succession planning, performance management and workforce planningPartner with leaders on the P+C team to support talent acquisition, total rewards, and people ops strategiesChampion JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) efforts and approach all P+C priorities with a lens on how it will impact ZGF’s JEDI goals Support the development and delivery of P+C strategy providing clear communication, implementation, and measurement of key people initiatives/programs to support a high-performance cultureWork with managers to ensure that employee engagement and career development are top of mind when dealing with people initiativesPromote an effective approach to performance management with managers, providing support with the creation and monitoring of goal setting, improvement and high-potential plans as needed Manage sensitive workplace issues and conflicts, including performance issues and separations; lead internal investigationsSupport the development, communication, and implementation of P+C programs and initiatives to improve the employee experience, including leading presentations and trainingPartner with the P+C team to proactively identify opportunities to improve policies, processes, and proceduresOther duties, as assignedQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience7+ years’ experience in human resources Prior experience as an HR Business Partner preferredPrior experience in the AEC industry or at a professional services firm preferredPHR or SHRM-CP certificationAbility to work on-site at least 3 days per week (Tuesday-Thursday); option for remote work 2 days per week (Monday and Friday)Ability to understand business priorities and develop new approaches, policies and procedures to meet these prioritiesAbility to collaborate and build consensus with cross-functional teams to deliver resultsAdvanced knowledge of federal, state and local regulationsAbility to manage change effectively, mindful of process and systems implications; experience leading change management initiatives preferredMust thrive in a fast-paced environment; able to deal with ambiguity, as well as competing and shifting prioritiesExceptional written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to distill complex informationAdvanced understanding of MS Office and other business applications requiredSensitivity to confidential matters and ability to use discretion as requiredKnowledge of architectural / engineering terminology a plus, though not requiredTravel required occasionally to build relationships with client group(s) estimated at approximately 10%Apply With: Cover letterResumeZGF Architects LLP is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
