**The role at a glance:**
NBBJ Columbus has a unique opportunity for a highly capable Human Resources professional to join our team as an HR Generalist. You will contribute to the success of NBBJ and the Human Resources team by supporting HR initiatives, compliance, onboarding, and employee relations. A successful candidate will have a passion for people, strong relationship-building skills, a comprehensive background in all functions of HR, and excel in a fast-paced and flexible environment. **In your new role, you will:**
- Support and maintain HR System Records, filing, data entry, I-9 & E-Verify record keeping, and other general HR administrative duties. Assist and support with general Compensation and Benefits projects, including COBRA notices, FMLA, Workers Comp, etc.
- Coordinate with vendors to develop and file Affirmative Action Plans (AAP) and annual reporting such as EEO, Vets-4212, OHSA, etc. to ensure compliance.
- Conduct payroll auditing and reporting.
- Be responsible for HR administration of employee onboarding, offboarding, and exit interview processes firm-wide.
- In collaboration with the team, assist with the day-to-day administration of the Leave of Absence process and reporting across multiple offices and states.
- Act as a trusted advisor to studio core teams and employees, supporting them on day-to-day HR matters, firm policies, procedures, and benefit-related questions.
- Collaborate with the HR team to find proactive and creative solutions for a broad range of day-to-day HR issues that surface.
- Help drive and support select HR initiatives from concept through successful execution and rollout strategies.
- Perform a wide array of other related HR duties, tasks, and projects as required.
**What you will need to succeed:**
- 3 - 6 years of progressive HR experience, strongly preferred in professional services or entrepreneurial environments.
- BA/BS in HR field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Strong prioritization and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-starter who can work collaboratively and independently.
- Ability to handle stress in a graceful manner.
- Team player eager for the next challenge.
- Exhibits strong customer service soft skills.
- Able to handle conflicting priorities with ease.
- Proficient in anticipating and solving complex challenges.
- Strong technical skills – proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, database management, and onboarding software.
