Description
To join us as an Interior Designer III, you should have:
- Bachelor's degree in interiors, architecture or related discipline required
- 5+ years in Interior Design or Architecture, covering all project phases from programming to contract documentation
- Proficient in Revit, BIM, and advanced 2D/3D modeling and visualization tools (e.g., Rhino, Grasshopper, Enscape, VRay)
- Strong grasp of building codes and guidelines (ADA, FGI), as well as life safety and construction contract administration
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, lighting, and acoustics systems
- Skilled in specification writing, calculations, and interior product selection
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and collaboration abilities
- Preparing for NCIDQ LEED GA within 6 months of hire
- Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, or ILFI Living Future Accreditation
As an Interior Designer III on the Perkins&Will team, you will:
- Apply advanced design and technical methods, overseeing project phases from programming through construction documents.
- Lead design development with a strong grasp of integrating interior design and architectural concepts.
- Develop construction documents, detail sketches, and execute red-marked revisions.
- Conduct programming, space planning analysis, and area calculations.
- Work independently and with teams to meet budget and schedule constraints.
- Create and coordinate presentation materials to communicate design intent.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and vendors on project requirements.
- Mentor team members, fostering collaboration and skill development.
- Leverage expertise in Revit and other design software for high-quality output.
- Ensure design solutions align with project goals and technical standards.
