Perkins&Will Vancouver is looking to recruit an Information Technology Technician. The Information Technology Technician role is responsible for the resolution of technology problems/issues for end users. IT Technician personnel will resolve issues directly in person as well as remotely. The position requires effective verbal as well as non-verbal skills. This is primarily a customer service-oriented position and performance/feedback from the end users will be considered in performance reviews.

This position will work closely with members within Vancouver and Calgary, resolving helpdesk issues and providing IT maintenance/support for a studio. The role involves a close relationship with the studio/regional Operations Director and Managing Directors group. Candidates should show initiative and the ability to work well independently and with others. Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills are essential. A “hands-on” working style is also required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshoot assistance to clients via phone, email, chat, or in person.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Receive, prioritize, and manage service requests from internal clients.
• Communicate with clients in a professional and friendly manner, actively listening to their concerns and providing clear and concise instructions and guidance.
• Escalate complex or critical incidents to appropriate technical teams and follow up to ensure prompt resolution.
• Communicate incident updates to clients and provide status reports as needed.
• Contribute to the knowledge base and share best practices to enhance overall efficiency.
• Assist in managing IT assets including hardware and software inventory, license tracking, and equipment deployment.
• Coordinate with procurement and vendors for timely replacements and repairs.
• Conduct training sessions and provide orientation as needed.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends to recommend innovative solutions.

Reporting

Reports to the IT Services Manager and/or Director of IT Services.

Skills and Qualifications

• An associate or bachelor’s degree in computer technology or related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal skills.
• Experience communicating with large and small groups.
• Training and new employee orientation.
• Basic proficiency in using and administering:
• Windows desktop operating systems
• Mac OSx systems
• iOS devices
• Microsoft Teams
• PC and Laptop Hardware
• Ticketing systems
• Audio Visual systems

Working Conditions

Standard business hours plus availability to resolve off-hours issues. Occasional travel domestically or internationally for IT Service needs in company office locations or remote user locations. Responsibilities may include:

• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Using a telephone handset or substitute (i.e., headset) for extended periods of time.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand and power tools, and to handle other computer components.
• Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers, peripherals, servers, and monitors.

Salary

At the time of posting this job advertisement, the annual pay salary range for this position is between $59,000 - $75,300 commensurate with qualifications.
