HOK are looking for a dynamic and passionate Junior Interior Designer to join our friendly, hardworking, and collaborative team in central London. With the support and guidance of the Interiors Director of Design and the growing Interiors Team, as a Junior Interior Designer at HOK you will have the responsibility of working within project teams to assist the delivery of numerous projects within the discipline, which may be stand-alone Interiors projects, or project collaborations with the other disciplines in the studio, such as Mixed Use, Sports & Entertainment, Science & Technology and Ministry & Justice and Healthcare. On a day-to-day basis you will be assisting with the development of ideas, the production of drawings, documentation, and project data, and will take part in the development and delivery of presentations. From the start, you will be participating in internal technical meetings and project reviews, as well as attending client meetings and industry events. You may be working on one, or several smaller projects concurrently. Your creative ideas and input at every stage would be welcomed and expected, and as you grow within your role, you will have the opportunity to take on new responsibilities. Required Skills Ability to create and adapt conceptual documents and designs Knowledge of layouts/space planning and test fitting Basic understanding of working within standardised space programming Basic understanding of fire/egress and CDM Understanding of FF&E suppliers and procurement processes, inc. cost and timeframes Revit and AutoCAD – experience required but additional training will be provided Adobe CS (InDesign, Photoshop) + Affinity, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Sketchup Freehand sketching skills would be highly desirable Organised and attentive to deadline and last-minute update/change requests Ability to develop narratives and storytelling which engage clients and users Comfortable and proactive in developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients and consultants Qualifications Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and/or Interior Architecture. Prior experience in the industry, especially hospitality and workplace. Proof of Right to Work in the UK essential.
