Your RoleGensler’s Middle East office is seeking an exceptionally talented and passionate Landscape Architect to join our team of design thinkers and doers who specialize in helping to tell stories and create experiences in the context of the built environment. You will work in a multi-disciplinary studio that includes landscape and urban designers, architects and interior designers. You are currently working at an admired design agency but feel the need to grow and take charge of your own personal development and career growth in an agency that supports it.What you will doAs a Landscape Architect, you are innovative and passionate, with amazing concept schemes, an understanding of technical delivery, with experience in the Middle East and Internationally. You can work independently or as part of a team and with other practices within the office. A go getter, be assertive and not afraid to make mistakes. Be accountable for the delivery of your own projects, lead the design schemes, clients and team members to ensure the project is on time, and on budget.Working closely with the Studio Director and design team to develop urban planning and landscaping solution for various types of project types.Develop and present design concepts, proposals, and budgets to clients, consultants, and project teams.Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams.Collaborate with project teams to develop and present design concepts and ideas.Conduct site visits, analyze sites, and develop design solutions that address site-specific challenges and opportunities.Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.Coordinate with contractors and other project stakeholders during construction to ensure designs are implemented correctly.Liaise with clients, government agencies and project stakeholders requiring excellent communication and people management skills.Inspire and promote collaboration across disciplines to spark innovation, motivate talent and support design experimentation across the office.Be an advocate for Gensler sustainability commitments internally and externally.Make sustainability an integral part of every project.Define project sustainability targets in collaboration with the client and the project team at the start of each project.Understand clients ESG goals and work with project teams towards achieving them.Support and encourage team members to pursue sustainability learning.Your Qualifications5+ year’s project experience in an architectural practice with experience in several practice areasProven track record of contributing to the design of a range of projects from small scale architectural schemes to large scale and complex master plansGood understanding of local and international design standards and requirementsHigh level of verbal, written and graphic communication skills including freehand sketching and variety of computer aided mediums.Proven performance in the design and delivery process across the entire project lifecycle.Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices required.Good understanding of local and international design standards and requirementsGood team spirit. Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices required. Previous experience in sustainable design projects preferred. At least one project of the candidate portfolio should showcase this focus. Especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel and /or Net Zero Building certification.Your Design Technology QualificationsEssentialDeep understanding and expertise in Rhinoceros for design authoring. Deep understanding and expertise in Autodesk Revit for design authoring, documentation, data extracts and project delivery. Good knowledge and experience with interoperability workflows between Rhino & Revit throughout all the stages of a project. Basic understanding and familiarity with real-time rendering processes, and material creation & management within the context of integrated BIM and parametric workflows. Basic understanding and familiarity with Computational Design applications such as Grasshopper and/or Dynamo.Basic understanding and familiarity with simulation principles and processes, including interpretation, and application of results. DesirableGood knowledge and experience with the strategic planning, and setup of BIM projects. Good knowledge and experience with collaboration within the BIM context, including cloud-based markups, consultant coordination and clash detection. Understanding of the capabilities and application of Information Management tools such as Aconex, Asite, Newforma, etc. Good knowledge and experience with Computational Design applications such as Grasshopper and/or Dynamo. Good knowledge and experience with simulation principles and processes, including interpretation, and application of results. Familiarity with Performance Design applications such as Autodesk Insight, Sefaira, and Ladybug tools.
