The Corporate Practice Leader will partner with regional, national, and international leaders to grow the Landscape Architecture practice through business development, thought leadership, project design, and client relationships while cultivating a collaborative culture. Founded in 1935, Perkins&Will distinguished itself as a leader in Architectural design. To strengthen the firm’s expertise, Perkins&Will successfully added multiple disciplines over the years including Landscape Architecture in 2007. Since then, the landscape architecture team has won over 100 awards including national ASLA and international awards for their design excellence and thought leadership despite being a relatively small group in a few offices. The team has a broad reach over a wide range of market sectors with integrated discipline collaborations as well as a substantial percentage of standalone landscape led projects. As a Landscape Architecture Practice Leader, you will: Function as the practice builder, leading the development of Perkins&Will’s Landscape Architecture practice, reinforcing our position as a recognized leader in planning and design of landscape spaces around the world. Set strategic vision for the discipline to broaden the reach of current success including trajectory of marketing, research, and focus of standalone and integrated work. Organize and lead marketing efforts for the Landscape Architecture practice. Collaborate with designers around the world to promote a culture of excellence in design at the highest level. Sustain and grow revenue within the Landscape Architecture practice, helping to achieve top growth for stand-alone and integrated work in partnership with other discipline leaders. Implement strategies for studios with Landscape Architecture to collaborate, complement, and thrive as both individual and collective units on stand-alone projects and with interdisciplinary teams Actively participate in professional organizations and other networking groups and attend/present at conferences to elevate the Perkins&Will Brand in the Landscape Architecture community. Serve as the person accountable for discipline design excellence and profitability. Provide a competitive advantage and elevate the firm’s marketing success based upon the successful candidate’s reputation, portfolio, contacts, and relationships within the community. Enhance the firm’s ability to attract talent through mentoring, developing, and training staff Work closely with leadership to make go/no go decisions on proposals; formulate project teams and write/coordinate proposals and interviews. Demonstrated ability to build business and deliver complex landscape projects. Requirements: Minimum of 15 - 20 years of professional experience to include leadership of a team and accountability for overall design excellence, and profit and loss of said team. Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture; Master’s degree preferred Registered Landscape Architect A collaborative, consensus, and process-oriented approach to Landscape Architecture Collaborative Good team player who shares opportunities and understands their own limitations; proven track record of placing team goals above own Established client relationships, which would facilitate the transference of these relationships to Perkins&Will A portfolio of completed relevant landscape architecture projects attributable directly to the candidate. Projects should reflect design excellence and be relevant to the strategic goals and objectives of Perkins&Will and preferably in the sectors in which we practice. and the Landscape Architecture practice Proven and verifiable experience in identifying leads, building a network, and producing quality projects Strong written, verbal and presentation skills Experience writing articles on topics relevant to Landscape Architecture is plus, as well as experience speaking before national conferences or organizations Qualified and interested candidates should submit a resume and work samples.
