You are adept at business development while also taking on a leadership role on projects. Working collaboratively within the studio and Gensler network, you will help shape how we get the work and help mentor the next generation of design professionals. Your goals and professional outlook align with Gensler’s “one-firm firm” culture and people first philosophy. The San Diego office is seeking a market leader for tenant direct workplace interiors to assume a key leadership role. The qualified candidate will have exceptional client relationship skills and a portfolio of innovative design solutions with an emphasis on built work. What You Will Do As a thought and knowledge leader, seller, and doer, you will work in concert with the studio’s senior leadership developing and executing strategies to grow the studio’s tenant direct interiors practice through expanding existing client relationships and developing new lines of work Have an in-depth portfolio of high-quality built work that compliments the office’s current portfolio Develop collaborative relationships in the firm, with clients, and with other key constituents Collaborate with design teams to deliver informed project solutions based on market expertise and deep understanding of client goals Partner with leadership to establish budgetary framework and investment strategies for the studio Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans Lead relationships with the client, contractor, agencies, as well as engineering and specialty consultants Prepare and review proposals, contracts, and consultant agreements Your Qualifications Registered architect or interior designer with at least 15 years of experience; inclusive of 10+ years of recent, progressive experience leading the planning and design of all phases of workplace interiors projects LEED AP preferred; committed to the principles of sustainable design and resilient communities Excellent presentation and interview skills; ability to sell planning solutions to the highest level of decision makers (owners, directors, brokers, etc.), and to speak holistically about planning/issues/trends, in interviews Experience winning and delivering various scaled workplace projects and taking advantage of synergies across market sectors in business development pursuits Ability to build project-specific strategies in the business development phase by creating a unique value proposition, design strategy, presentation content, differentiation and value-added elements while collaborating with studio leadership Proven track record of identifying leads, developing relationships, and building a network Connected and well-regarded within the community and active in industry organizations Skilled at developing and motivating teams of people both internally and externally *TO BE CONSIDERED, PLEASE SUBMIT PORTFOLIO/WORK SAMPLES IN PDF FORMAT***The base salary range will be estimated between $125,000 - $150,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.Life at GenslerAt Gensler, we are as committed to enjoying life as we are to delivering best-in-class design.
