The Marketing Manager will be an individual that has an ability to take conceptual direction through written or spoken ideas, sketches and doodles, and covert them seamlessly into images, layouts and other designs. Business Development Support: The Marketing Manager will participate in decisions related to formatting and preparing marketing proposals to support the firm business development opportunities. Branding, Identity and Internal Graphic Design Support: The Marketing Manager will participate in firm decisions related to formatting and preparing reports, magazine layouts, journals, publications, press releases, infographics and other graphic design elements to support the firm brand and identity. Publication – The Marketing Manager will participate in the development and publication of the firm’s magazine – Love + Regeneration RESPONSIBILITIES The Marketing Manager will provide a consistent level of graphic design leadership for McLennan Design and is responsible for creating the visible graphic imagery that can be used in projects, media and print to support the firm. This position will be responsible to develop a strong rigor around templates, style sheets, graphic consistency and clarity. The Marketing Manager will have a knowledge in the use of leading computer software and visualization strategies to communicate McLennan Design’s standard graphic design, brand and identity across multiple mediums. Primary responsibilities for the Marketing Manager include: Partnering with McLennan Design team members to support the development of creative design concepts and lead the creative aspects of the execution to develop the project imagery. Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of traditional and digital design methodologies, user-experience/interface design, information design, and identity/branding. Utilizing McLennan Design computer hardware and software, including the tools and resources necessary to employ color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and print and layout techniques required to develop the graphic imagery for McLennan Design. Following the firm protocol and policies related to the use of graphic imagery, including compliance with copyrights and the use of any photography created by others. Also producing appropriate credits for use of materials developed by others. Assisting in the creation of materials required for web design services, including the design of business logos, signage and environmental graphics. Creating and maintaining clear organization of all images and information for use by the firm. Assisting in the layout and production design of McLennan Design business development proposals, reports, and articles for magazines, newspapers, journals or other publications. Assisting with the layout and production design of the McLennan Design magazine - Love + Regeneration Maintaining adherence with project budgets and timelines to guide the McLennan Design teams in the development of the project graphic imagery. REQUIRED SKILLS Primary skills required for the Marketing Manager include: Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art Design, Marketing or related discipline Demonstrated experience with Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, specifically with mockups, web design and multimedia presentation Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5 and JavaScript 4+ years in professional commercial design, preferably with an architectural practice in a graphic design role Experience working with WordPress templates, and strong skills developing pre-press layouts and coordination of interface with presses Experience with current innovations in press/print technology, utilizing sustainable/recycled papers, binding, embossing, natural dyes, and cutting techniques Adaptive design eye and skill Excellent communication skills Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and clients Good sketching abilities Strong skills working with fonts and publication needs for print communication Marketing and branding experience Social media and content management experience We foster a culture that is diverse and inclusive and strive for pay practices that are fair, and competitive and reflect our commitment to pay equity.
