This position will help further build up a cohesive accounting team that is able to function independently and efficiently. The Project Accountant is responsible for providing a solid foundation of analysis for projects and business practices by managing contracts, ensuring fiscal health of assigned projects, and mentoring and supporting the project management for India Offices. What You Will DoWork closely with Design Managers, establishing successful business relationships and ensuring accurate and consistent billing and financial reporting at the project and studio levelsMaintain organized project contract filesUnderstand contract terms as it relates to fee managementAssist Design Managers in performing project start-up due diligence and following Firm best practices throughout the project life cycleMeet regularly with Design Managers to review schedule, billing and collection issuesInteract with clients and consultants in a professional, courteous mannerReview project work plans, budgets, and staffing plans for appropriateness to feeDetermine and set up best billing terms and invoice formatsPrepare and process invoices in line with project contractual arrangements (E invoice as well as Deltek ERP invoice)Coordinate consultant invoices and payments per contract termsReview project labor and expense charges with Design Managers for accuracy and appropriatenessMonitor studio accounts receivable and assist Design Managers with collection effortsMonitor, analyze, and report on variety of metrics at the studio level to ensure healthy business practicesProvide training to Design Managers regarding financial maintenance of projectsPerform review of all expenses charges to projects including employee expense reportsDevelop an understanding of our accounting software and systems so that you are seen as an expert and a resource to our colleaguesProactively develop new ideas and solutions to improve financial managementForecast actual vs. budget spending and analyze projects to provide actionable insight to project and office leadershipCross-train and work closely with other team members so that we function as a cohesive and high performing team.
