Your Role Join a dynamic and growing team designing innovative projects for leading healthcare clients. We are looking for a Design Manager to manage healthcare projects throughout the Southwest Region. We are collaborative and client focused, with a commitment to design experience, sustainability and social purpose.What You Will DoLead collaborative design teams, working closely with Design Director and PIC, to establish effective project workplans with attainable project objectivesManage all phases of healthcare architecture and interior design projects, from project set-up through design and construction administrationHelp prepare project proposals, schedules, negotiate contracts and fees, coordinate bidding processParticipate and present in project interviews and client meetingsManage scheduling, budgets, staffing, project set-up with clients, sub-consultants, vendors and contractorsTrack financial performance of projects and adjust the workplan to meet goalsUnderstands fundamental accounting principles and the project accounting processCollaborates in delivering a project on defined budget and schedule requirementsDevelop and maintain client relationships, for both single projects and multi-project global accountsParticipates in and may lead team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues and coordination with other disciplinesPrepare meeting minutes and other appropriate documents for consultant coordination meetingsMentor and support growth of team membersActively support firmwide sustainability and resilience goals, guiding clients and project teams toward multi-benefit sustainable and resilient design solutionsSupport diversity, equity and inclusion goals on projects and within the officeYour QualificationsExperience leading architectural and planning projects for healthcare clients (medical centers, medical office buildings, hospitals, outpatient clinics, surgery centers, community health centers, etc.).Experience leading large scale and complex projects and mentoring architects and designersA minimum of 10+ years of related experienceIntegrated into the Los Angeles County and Orange County communities with positive healthcare client referencesExperience with HCAI facilitiesStrong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal management skillsCommitment to collaborative design processExperience negotiating project scope and feesKnowledge of local building codes and standardsProficiency with PM software: MS Project a plusWorking knowledge of Revit preferredProfessional degree (Master or Bachelor) in Architecture from an accredited programLicensed architect and LEED AP preferredFor more information about our Health sector, please visit: https://www.gensler.com/expertise/health-wellness.**The base salary will be estimated between $118,800 - $145,200 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.Life at GenslerAt Gensler, we are as committed to enjoying life as we are to delivering best-in-class design.
