The RMD partners with the leaders of our region, offices, and practice areas to drive the firm’s growth and recognition in the region. The RMD implements the firm’s global marketing/communications strategies on a regional level.They are responsible for developing excellent teams of marketing professionals. An RMD’s role goes well beyond simply managing the marketing function and is focused instead on high-level strategy, integration across design/practice areas/geography, client/market intelligence and related principal-level business management responsibilities.What You Will DoLead regional marketing and business development strategyPartner with regional managing principals and office/practice leaders to plan and execute strategies for developing existing or new markets and sectorDrive integration across practice areas, identify opportunities for new service offerings and thought leadership outreachAlign the firm’s global strategies with local market considerationsManage lead generation and tracking as relationship development process; oversee regional CRM/opportunity tracking systemStructure and lead learning programs around marketing/business developmentLead client relationship initiatives: events, special programs, contact programs, audits/debriefs/focus groupsConduct research on potential new markets, geographies, or clientsDevelop and track success metrics against strategies for constant improvementOther responsibilities as required by specific markets in region.Develop best-in-class teams of marketing professionalsDrive regional recruiting, hiring, and professional development for marketing staffConduct learning programs for staff on topics such as client relationships, networking, business development, and brand standardsEnsure that local marketing teams are informed of firmwide initiatives, resources, and standardsDevelop team structures and responsibilities for marketing staff across the region; perform regular professional development reviews and addresses any gaps in performanceDirect marketing infrastructure and operationsProvide quality oversight for collateral, proposals, presentations, events, and other marketing activitiesContribute to the strategy and content of specific business development activities, often leading high-profile engagements or “must-win” pursuitsDevelop a framework to maximize efficiency and communication between each of the regional officesMonitor processes for quality control, filing, and adherence to the firm’s standardsDevelop annual marketing and photography budgetTrack, analyze, and report marketing expendituresRepresent the region in firmwide marketing/communications effortsEngage with counterparts in other regions to share information and best practicesContribute local content, information, and perspective to global publicationsCollaborate with Regional Managing Principals to develop high-profile internal communicationsLead regional brand managementInterpret/express the brand at local/regional level: visual/verbal, behavioral expressionAssure brand quality and extension in various applicationsAdvocate for client perspective in brand effortsConnect with FW communications teams regarding ongoing brand evolutionCollaborate on the public relations and communications programsCollaborate with the Regional PR Director, Greater China to ensure excellent delivery of media, events (social & knowledge), community relations: sponsorships, committees.Leads regional internal communications as relevant.RelationshipsReports to regional managing principal; dotted line to FW Global Marketing Director.Active relationships with other Regional Marketing Directors and personal engagement with FW marketing initiatives outside the region.
